Round 2 : |
Let's see how much we learned from Round 1. |
I know it’s been a few weeks since I last updated, but I’ve been busy. And sick. Not from the baby though. Well, not at first.
I had a sinus infection. Got over it. Then morning sickness wanted to take a bite, and I’ve not felt well. Add in a cranky toddler who is cutting a 2nd molar, fighting with allergies for all 3 family members and dealing with new kittens…I’ve been busy!
Here’s the update though:
13 weeks TODAY!
Heart rate was 160 at my last appointment (March 23rd, 2012).
I’ve lost a few pounds, not meaning to.
I feel like I’m bigger on some days. Today not so much, the other day VERY much pregnant feeling!
I can feel the baby move, swish and kick. Not all the time, but usually 1 or 2 times a day I feel the little bugger moving around in there
Husband is jealous of the last statement, BTW! I can’t wait for him to feel it move either.
Everyone says it’s a girl! Mainly because of the ‘higher heart rate’ but I’ve squashed that Old Wives Tale. DS’s was high too and a TON of other Mommies have vouched that the rumor was wrong for them. We shall see in May!
By my next appointment in April, I should have approval for my progesterone shots that I will be taking weekly for 20 weeks straight! I should also have approval for my 20 weeks anatomy scan/ultrasound at Ft. Bragg. My insurance does not cover ANY ultrasounds or routine screenings so I’ve got to drive 2-3 hours to the nearest Army post and get it done there for FREE!
Also thinking about getting a 3D/4D ultrasound done eventually at my doctors office, just so I can see the baby again and make sure the gender is what the tech says it is. I have to pay for that, but I’ll get what I can get!
I think that is about it. Not much else to report. I promise to update more often. Till then…goodbye!
Next appointment:
April 19th, 2012
13 Weeks
March 27th, 2012
So the date says it’s posted on March 6th, but I’m writing this on the 7th. Thanks Tumblr for having the option to change the post date!
10 weeks today! Feeling okay. (<That rhymed.) I am now sick in the AM at breakfast and in the PM at dinner. Yay! (<Sarcasm.) I am still having the weird dreams. I had another one (makes two so far!) that woke me up in the middle of the night crying my eyes out. I like the weird/funny ones that have the baby signing to me at the ultrasound, not the weird/scary ones.
Not much else to report really. My next appointment is on the 23rd. Nothing odd has happened, which is good. Been trying to remember to take my prenatal pills. Been drinking lots of water and chocolate milk.
I think that’s it. Bye for now!

*Is it the baby in there, or the 2 donuts I ate for breakfast? Humm, hard to tell.

Heart rate: 169
*For those who have issue seeing ultrasounds (I did at one point.) the baby is upside down. You can see him/her curled into, go figure, the fetal position. :)
My weight: 143lbs. / -3lbs
Fetal heart rate: 169
Well, went to my official first appointment today. DH was there for this one finally. Got lots of paper work, things to consider and so on. Man, I wish my last pregnancy went smoother. Then I wouldn’t have to consider weekly shots for 20 weeks straight or scheduling a c-section.
Anyways, doc says I look fine. He said so long as nothing major happens he thinks I should have a fairly uneventful pregnancy. He did another ultrasound, which is what I wanted, and found out that my due date WAS correct to begin with. He is going by my last cycle and I was going by my probable conception date. The two are only a day apart. The last ultrasound I had the tech must have gotten a bad shot of the baby, and measured it a week younger than what it really was. Today I am 8wks, 3dys and I am due Oct. 2nd, 2012.
I want to go into the irritating news I got today, but I’ve had such a bad day I’m too tired to venture far. Short story: I need a secondary insurance or I can’t get another ultrasound. Ever. I won’t know if my baby has any issues or anything until I deliver. Which is stupid. It’s only different because of the state. We WILL find a way to get at least a 20 week anatomy scan and a 36 week scan though.
We also spilled the beans to the rest of our family and friends. That went well. For the most part. I got a few annoying responses but it’s not big deal. We’re happy and a lot of people are happy for us.
Next Appointment: March 23rd, 2012
#1. Morning sickness has arrived. No vomiting yet. But nausea is bad between 7am and 11am.
#2. Dreams. Odd. Very odd dreams. Like 3 or 4 a night. Most I can remember, most I cannot.
#3. Round ligament pain. They are stretching as my uterus grows and it hurt if i move to fast.
#4. My due date may be wrong. I may not be as far along as I thought. Look to the previous post for the explanation.
We are happy our trying finally paid off and DS gets to be a big brother later this year.
